Engeli’s consultants hold over 70 years in combined enterprise development experience, both locally and abroad.

“What makes us unique, however, is that we are providing a comprehensive bouquet of business services from BBBEE consulting to other support solutions including SME and skills development,” described Wayne Oosthuizen, MD at Engeli.

The other five Directors include intrepid entrepreneur, Trevor Hayter; SME Development specialist Dr. Ricardo Dames; former Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber President, Alfred Da Costa; Chartered Accountant, Deidre Renison; as well as Barry Wiseman.

“Thus, we can better assist our clients in optimising their BBBEE scorecard by reducing the cost of compliance and/or by enhancing value derived in implementing solutions for the seven elements of the scorecard,” explained Oosthuizen.

He said Engeli has also developed its own solutions to address barriers to small business growth, job creation and SME sustainability.

“Our Engeli Enterprise Development Fund (EEDF) can be used by a donor company to achieve their full ED points. Funds donated are lent to deserving SMEs to address their short-term funding needs.

“While we have also established a Venture Capital Company which will be used to invest in qualifying small businesses, through our Supply Chain Solutions, we are also linking Black and Women owned companies into supply chains,” described Dames.

Engeli has also been assisting small businesses in the conceptualisation, design and implementation of new Business Support Organisations (virtual and physical incubators).

“This is achieved by the establishment of business incubators either independently or with other industry organisations and by providing high level business support and mentorship within this framework,” explained Oosthuizen.

Above all, Engeli has established itself as a professional training institution for Services Education and Training Authority (SETA) accredited business skills programmes including Small Business Management, Soft Skills Training andRetrenchee Assistance.

“We can assist any type of SME in any sector with these services and since we started, we have assisted in excess of a 100 local small businesses,” said Wiseman
